During the last decade, new generations of Advance Bio-Reactors have made a significant stride in improving the
reliability and range of application of biological treatment of odorous gases. The new designs utilize much smaller foot
space and synthetic media while treating a much wider range of gases concentration and achieving much higher
removal efficiencies.
The utilization of synthetic media improves air and water distribution as well
as increasing the bio-mass density and its life. Amerair International utilizes
both structured and random packing media in our design. Either random or
structure media offer advantages and disadvantages and therefore the
optimal selection is made for each system design based on the specifications
for each project.
The bio-mass consists of various bacteria type that consumes the odorous gas (i.e. Hydrogen Sulfide or VOC’s) that
becomes absorbed into the moist bio-mass environment. In case of Hydrogen Sulfide, which is the predominant
odorous gas for waste water industry, the bacteria require dissolved oxygen to fully complete the reaction for making
Sulfuric Acid as the final product. Water containing sufficient nutrients is either continuously or intermittently is sprayed
on the synthetic packing media to provide the required nutrients along with dissolved oxygen as well as to wash away
dead bio-mass. If secondary effluent/utility water is used there may not be a need for addition of nutrients.
Our new bio-reactor design offers the highest flow output per square meter of space in the industry covering air flow
rates as high as 22,000 m3/hr of air flow through a single vessel while achieving excellent removal efficiencies of
odorous gases ranging up to 2000 ppmv.
Our design provides the lowest capital cost while minimizing the operating and maintenance cost. Our process and
design team has extensive experience in successful design and supply of biological scrubbers backed by numerous
installations across the globe! For further details please contact us
